Is A Root Canal!!!
And That is exactly what I got last night!
My tooth has been hurting for quite some time now and well I have been putting it off for as long as I possibly can!
A couple of days ago it hit me harder than it ever has as I tried to eat some french toast and drink some milk.
I was on the bed in tears and I didn't even want to talk it hurt so bad (I know, I must have been in some real pain!)
I got a bit of medicine in me and got it under control and tried to be a big girl through all the pain.
The next morning it was even worse than before- I could not even touch my tongue or other teeth to
my tooth without sharp excruciating pain!
Even the soft bristles of my toothbrush caused a horrible shock of pain through my mouth!
Eating was almost more work than it was worth trying to keep anything (including my other teeth) away from my sore tooth, even my soft
Mac and Cheese was too much! So my cute mom called my Dentist (who has been a friend of the family FOREVER- I don't think I have ever been to anyone else! My Grandma worked for him for years and years) to see if he could prescribe some pain meds until I could get in.
He said he would but he was honest the end of the yr is crazy with peeps tryin to get in and it would be easier for him to just go in that night (Sunday) and do it- other wise there were no guarantees when I would get it taken care of!
My mom knew I would say no way jose because I didn't want to inconvenience him that way, plus we had Justin's family party that night
So she didn't even let me decide, she and Justin made the decision for me! (I still feel bad I ruined everyone's night and missing the party!!)
I was nervous as all get out for the procedure but Dr. Dentist is so sneaky and I was numbed up before I even knew what was happening!
All he did this time was drill a mega hole into the center of my tooth to relieve the pressure and allow the infection to come out.
(I'll be going back in later to get it all plugged up!)
I was so nervous he would say I was nutso and there was nothing wrong with me but thankfully My tooth WAS dead and I DID need a root canal- I am not just a sissy! He even let my mom and J smell the infection on the implement- ewe!!!! So now I have a gaping hole in my tooth and am on an antibiotic to get all that yucky infection outta there! I am a happy camper because although my mouth is a little achey, it is NOTHING like the pain I have had the past few days!
Thanks to wonderful loved ones who care about me and my poor little tooth
and a WONDERFUL dentist who moved heaven and earth to put me out of my misery!
And I can say I have had my first root canal! Hopefully I won't be having another one for a LONG time!

Merry Christmas to you! :) Bleh! I am NOT a fan of root canals, but I cringed as I read the pain you were feeling! Been there, done that - and I'd take the root canal any day! Hope you are feeling better!
oh shoot! That's no fun! I seriously stress about the dentist so I can't even begin to imagine what you went through! But I am glad to hear you are feeling better!
