LASIK!!!

In December I had the AMAZING opportunity to get Lasik surgery on my eyes!! Justin had it after he got home from his mission and has been telling me I need it forever! The stars aligned and (thanks to my selfless, wonderful husband) I had my HORRIBLE vision (I was 20/400!!) corrected. Above is right after my valium and before we started.... We look so beautiful because we had to be there at like 7 am! Everyone was so nice and calming but I was pretty dang nervous!

Surgery only took about 20 min and Justin got to watch the whole thing on a TV in the waiting room. Great for him, bad for me because I saw the person before me go.... yikes! I wasn't sure about them cutting and lasering my eye balls! Right after I came out they taped these beautiful cups to my eyes and home I went. I was told in a couple hours I would be pretty miserable and boy they weren't lying!! I went home, layed down, covered my eyes with a towel because they were SO light sensitive and tried to sleep. I wanted to cry (but my eyes wouldn't let me) even attemping to open my eyes, which I had to do regularly for drops.

My folks invited us out to lunch that afternoon and even though I felt icky I wanted to get out of the house. Can you believe I was seen in public like this??? My dad started laughing as soon as he saw me. Later that night I was feeling much better and through my swollen eyes was able to see MUCH better than before.

I had to wear these pretty cups over my eyes the first 24 hours and then to sleep in for 5 days. Good thing my husband doesn't love me for my looks! A few blood vessels in my eye were popped so I had some scary red marks for a couple of weeks but I think the most torturous part of the whole experience was not being able to wear make-up for a week. I am not one of those naturally pretty people! I suppose it was good for my humility to be make-up free, until Nicholas came home to visit and said "Will you PLEASE wear make-up tomorrow???" Thanks gug. He would be embarrassed to know I am sharing these pictures, actually I am embarassed enough myself!

Nonetheless, I am proud to say I can see amazing and I am SO thankful I was able to have this done. It truly is a miracle to be able to see without glasses (I've had them since 4th grade!) or contacts. Justin's face is so cute to wake up to and actually be able to see first thing in the morning! I'm a lucky girl in more ways than one :)

Januaryisms

Bleak January as usual? I think not! Here are some fun things we did... Got a Package from Avery!!! BEST thing EVER to come home to! Avery had this native Kuna Indian dress made specially for me! Isn't it fun?

He also sent home lots of fun bracelets. Can you believe he is going to be home in THREE months??!! I'm so excited! I miss my brother so much!

This little face couldn't brighten up any winter blues! That is "I Love You" he is signing to me :)

And this little guy had a birthday... he is not so little anymore! It's making me sad how fast he is growing! For the grandkids bdays Gma and Gpa take them to a fancy lunch, and shopping. It is a day all about them! They are pampered and get pretty much whatever they want! (Good thing they're such good kids!) Since we don't have kids of our own and we are the awesomest aunt and uncle :) We get invited sometimes, to help in the pampering. More attention and love for the bday boy! It's lots of fun and Kannon definately deserves it. I can't believe my little baby nanners is 9!! Seems like he was just born last week! We went to Cheesecake Factory and shopping at Nordstroms.

We got a big dressing room, turned on some music and had a bumping fashion show!

Another January day we babysat this cute little guy while his fam and the "big kids" went to the Jazz game. He is seriously the cutest thing ever! I Love him!! He was falling asleep so Justin gave him a lesson in jumping jacks. Have you ever watched a 2 year old try and do jumping jacks? It is quite entertaining!

It snowed so Ryder got to go on the "fulleller" (four wheeler) with uncle Justin and shovel. He had a blast and came back soaking wet with a big smile on his face!

Here is Kannon's "birthday shake" (he doesn't like cake). Happy January everybody!!

Christmas Morning!

I told Justin Christmas morning, Christmas being married is SO MUCH FUN! We literally had a blast. We had our own little tree with our own little Christmas morning. Justin had me open this gift first... now I know why! A brand new camera!!! It is Pink, a touch screen, and WATERPROOF!! I was so excited about it being waterproof, I have always wanted that! He is so sweet!

Santa filled our stockings with lots of treasures.

I always say no matter how old you are you need a toy on Christmas!

A cute sweater I bought J.

I LOVE this coat! I had one just like it and it literally was falling apart, but I kept wearing it because I loved it so much!

I was so excited to give Justin these Rudy Project sunglasses! They are for running or active-ness, Photocromic, polarized, impact X lenses!! (Don't feel bad if you don't speak that language :))

J gave me these CUTEST boots ever!! I was so excited but so sad I had to take them back because they didn't fit me :(

We got so many other things, spoiiiiled! Here is the mess after we finished. I am such a lucky girl! He always gets me so many cute things. I LOVE this boy! So thankful to have him. Merry Christmas to all!

It's Christmas!!

Better late then never right?? Christmas with the fam was wonderfully spectacular as usual! We were beyond spoiled!!!

waiting to hand out the gifts...

Dad was SO suprised with what mom got him, it's what he willy willy wanted!

Nicholas gave us, Cory, and mom and dad apple TV!! Whoot whoot! And... Mom and dad gave Nicholas... Apple TV! Ha ha ha

Santa brought both gug and I IPads and Justin and I IPhones! Holy I-overload! I am NOT a techno-savvy gal but I have to say I have learned a lot and am loving them both!!!

Justin and I totally splurged and bought Cory, Paige, Gug, and Avery Maui Jims! It was so fun to give a gift someone couldn't get themselves. Nicholas gave us the best reaction "TIFF!! This is the best gift you have ever given me!!" I literally had more fun giving these than getting anything. It was so fun! (Thanks to my super supportive husband for letting me be a little (ok a lot) crazy :))

Dad already has a pair of Maui's so we got him a pair of Rudy Projects! They are awesome sporty sunglasses and I couldn't resist when I saw them in this neon color, perfect for my father!!

Mom just bought her own pair of sunglasses so... I wanted to get her something really special because I love her so much! We gave her a porcelain white Fossil watch. I was so excited!

Justin was so thrilled to get new saddle bags for the motorcycle, he has wanted them for so long!

Cory opening his Maui Jims.

Kannon's sweet sweatshirt from Grandma and Grandpa- not that you would know it is Kannon under there!

My FAVORITE gift?? It wasn't wrapped under the tree! I got to talk to Avery! I was SO excited!! We got to skype him on my new IPad. Best. Present. Ever. Miss that boy so much.
Trying out the awesome new features on my new camera... Panoramic shot

And smile detect- it snaps the picture when the person smiles (great for kids). This is the smile it detected! Ha ha ha love this little man!

The boys carving the turkey dinner

And mom and I working on all the other yummies for our big Christmas dinner.

Here is the final product, one of my favorite parts about Christmas! The company is not bad either :)

Dad giving us a little message about Christ and what Christmas is REALLY all about- Our Savior and our wonderful families. SOOO blessed and SOOO thankful.

While eating pie we got a special treat of watching Grandma and Ellie dance to Justin Bieber on Ell's new Itouch. (Does she not have the cutest Grandma ever!?)

Christmas was wonderful and we really were spoiled far more than we deserve! I'm so thankful for all I have- most of all my amazing Husband and Family, that's what it's all about!!
