Talk about a hard day. Torture I tell you. Another picture overload- feel free to move on if you aren't interested.
We started out the day by going to breakfast one last time...
On the way to the MTC we stopped at a store and Avery got one last Mountain Dew.
With the new curbside drop off program, they don't leave much time for goodbyes. We headed up the street for a few pictures and hugs.
Cute Ryder was oblivious. Wish I could have been! Isn't he so cute?

The original plan was to have Ave say bye to the Cory Hill fam at the park and then just the rest of us take him to the MTC. It was too hard to say goodbye so...
We all piled in the mom and dad's car and took him!
We were so blessed to have cousin Louis (who has been in the MTC for 2 wks) be on the lookout for us coming so he could be the 'Host' to take Owen in. It felt a little better to send him off with someone we know and love.
Saying goodbye was really really hard. Avery is my best little bud and has been my whole life. Life without him here is very hard and very different. I'm going to miss him a lot! However, I am very proud of him and his decision to sacrifice his life for two years. I just hope it goes by fast!
And in a flash, he was gone. It is very rushed this way. Like pulling a bandaid off really fast. Still hurts. Good bye for two years!
