Unfortunately On the Fall Cruise we had an experience that made us realize we are in fact not invincible. Coming around a curve, a bike right in front of me and Justin went down. It was a very scary ordeal (espcially for me!) One of the first people on the scene you want to help but don't know quite what to do! Thankfully we ride with many former police officers and the situation was handled quite well!
Jay and Jeaneen Moffat went down thankfully not going too fast and (we believe in answer to prayers) right after a big ditch and right before a bed of sharp rocks! They were very lucky!!
Jeanean had road rash and needed stitches for a pretty deep gash-or hole- full of gravel, on her wrist. Jay had road rash, fingernails ripped off and fingers broken. We thought that was the extent of his injuries until in the ambulance he began floating in and out of consciousness. He was rushed to the hospital where they realized he had ruptured his spleen and had surgery the following day! Both are doing well!
This right here makes me want to ALWAYS wear my helmet! He had scratch's on his head even while wearing his, I can't imagine what his face would have looked like had he not! I know this was not the biggest deal ever but it still freaked me out to see it happen. I'm thankful everything turned out alright and that Heavenly Father was watching out for us that day! All you riders- be safe out there and WEAR YOUR HELMETS!!

Thank Goodness they had helmets on!! I don't know if you know this but My husband was in a bad motorcycle accident last year. The police told me the only reason my husband was still alive was because he always wore the proper gear! I am so Sorry for your friends but I am so glad they are okay!
