It's no secret that I LOVE hanging out with family. I LOVE it!! Makes me happy and thankful! My whole family hasn't been together in so long that we crammed lots of fun into the week we had together... The following is some of the craziness.
Above: Me with my 3 brothers. Love. Them. SO. Much.
In Park City eating, recreating, desserting.
The whole clan.
Little boys will be boys. Ryder with his hands hanging out in the undies and chasing a squirrel.
Riding the Alpine Coaster. This was awesome! If you haven't tried it you should! I am sad to say I will probably never ride the Alpine Slide again now that I have discovered the coaster!
We rode (motorcycles, bikes, and rollerblades) down to the church parking lot so Avery O. could learn how to ride a motorcycle. So excited for some fun rides this Summer! (extra excited O. will be with us!)
My mom regularly has Sunday dinners. Un-regularly are we ALL there to eat her fabulous cooking. It was so fun to all be sitting around the table together. (happily reminded me of Duck Dynasty- have you seen that silly show? It is so funny! I heart uncle Sy!)
Baahahaaa! Does this even need an explanation??
Ok this might be the best memory of the bunch. We were having an intense game of kickball when (in the first inning) Avery threw the ball at warp speed to tag Justin right before he came across home plate. Justin (being the speed demon he is) out run the ball for the run... guess who was standing patiently behind home plate for his turn to kick? Der Der. The ball whizzed past Justin and hit Ryder square in the face! As if it was in slow motion- his head went back, both legs flew up and he was knocked flat on his back. He immediately started crying and those who were not consolling him immediately started laughing. It was the saddest/funniest experience of my life. Everyone was literally rolling around on the ground laughing. I told a co-worker this story and she said "Well where were his parents?"... they were also rolling around laughing! Are we the meanest people ever? Don't worry, we loved Ryder and made him feel all better. We stayed serious for a moment until we saw the pattern of the ball imprinted on his forehead as he said "I don't want to play this game anymore!" Poor little man! But OH SO FUNNY!
Family night: Dinner and a movie- Snow White and the Huntsman... interesting. Not my favorite movie ever! We laughed almost as hard as the kickball incident on the way home listening to my Dad's critique of the show...
"I'm sad to say my favorite part of that movie was the two little naked cherubs with the cute faces!"
"I couldn't understand a word of what those dwarfs were saying! The ONLY word I caught was Poop!"
"I payed good money for this show when last night for free in my own home we watched a fantastic movie. After watching Moneyball I wanted to stand up, salute, and praise the Lord!"
Ah I love my dad. He is so funny.
One day we took the two boys in to see the fabulous City Creek. We had a yummy lunch before rushing home to see Kannon's baseball game in the pouring rain. A few more funnyisms?
When pulling in to the underground parking Nicholas plows past a ticket dispenser (with a sign telling you to proceed to the next booth for a ticket)
I say (nervously) "You didn't take the ticket!!"
Nicholas: "How about I go up to the place the ticket is dispensed?! It's almost like I read signs!"
The other funny moment that I wish I had documented was when my brother decided my dad should borrow one of his Ambien to help him sleep... His strict instructions were not to take the pill and then go to the bathroom, not to take the pill and get a snack, DO NOT take the pill until you are in bed ready to go to sleep! So what does my father do? He pops it in as we are sitting around talking about mission experiences and having story time. This is what happened next:
Dad "So in my first area in Antigua we lived in this house with dirt floors. One day there scurrys across the floor this huge............Holy Cow..... What the H#@! did Nicholas give me???"
He tried to finish his story but paused a few times to address us each.
To me: "You're face is just... wrong!"
To Justin: "It looks like you have 3 faces... and they are covered with all these spots!"
To Avery: "When did you grow such a big beard? Do you know who you remind me of? The guy.... the guy from... the area!"
He finally stood up to go to bed and just about fell over. Justin and Avery escorted him to bed and in the morning, he had no recollection of any of it! I forbade him from every taking an Ambien again!
Anywho- For those of you who made it to the end of this "guess you had to be there post"- which probably isn't many- I have one thing to say. "We may not have it all together, but together we have it all" We are crazy dysfunctional but we love each other and I am so thankful for my eternal family!

I love your funny moments you posted about! They seriously made me laugh so hard, I can just see that cute little Ryder getting hit right in the face, poor guy...but I agree it sounded rather hilarious! Your family is so fun, I'm glad you enjoyed every moment of having Avery back home!
