September 11th 2011

Where were you when the world stopped turning that September day?

I was on my way to school in my carpool when I heard one plane had hit the world trade center. At that time they thought it was an accident. I remember learning as the day went on that it was far from an accident. I felt scared that planes were going down all over, one of the plane's that hit the WTC had my friend's grandmother on it. I sat in front of the T.V. the rest of the week watching news coverage, scared out of my mind. It woke me up throughout the night, I fell out of bed. I was scared. I can only imagine what firefighters, police officers, people in New York, at the Pentagon and on U 93 were feeling. Now I know of their bravery and I'll always love and respect them for it! One good thing to come from the horrible terrorist attacks? It felt like our whole country united and stood up, making none of those lives lost in vain. GOD BLESS AMERICA.

Justin and I went down to the Sandy Healing field on 9.11's 10th anniversary (also my brother's birthday! Love ya Cor!). It was SO neat!

They unveiled this monument that will shine with a light on it every night.

And had a flag for every single person killed in the attacks. Attached to every flag was a card with the name of a person and a little snippit about them. I teared up many times realizing how many fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, aunts and uncles were killed that day.

SO thankful for this wonderful country we live in and for all those who have fought and continue to fight for the freedoms we have. God bless the USA.
